The first on-screen adaptation of Dracula, Nosferatu continues to haunt and terrify modern audiences. Director F.W Murnau captured on film a waking nightmare, conjuring vivid images of the occult out of dilapidated set-pieces and innocuous real-world locations alike, in this 100-year-old, famously unauthorised version of Dracula.
The original score which will accompany this screening has been a passion project for Rita Perry & Robbie Perry for its connection to Bram Stoker and its history in the evolution of Dracula’s story. Performed live, the duo’s music highlights how Stoker’s work takes shape and life over a hundred years after Dracula’s publication. In the work, the artists pay due respect to both Stoker, the original story-teller and to the cinematic vision of Murnau, celebrating the intersection of literature, cinema and music.
Rita Perry and Robbie Perry have collaborated together for over a decade producing an eclectic body of work, influenced by their experience and diverse interests. Formed by their familial relationship and a shared love for musical experimentation, the duo have turned their focus to the cinematic era of German Expressionism. In 2023, they began composing an original score to Murnau’s Nosferatu which premiered as a live score in the 2023 Clones Film Festival (CFF). Its reception at the festival was a huge success and was followed with an enthusiastic new commission for the 2024 CFF.

Entry
Two ramps bring guests up from Smithfield Square to the cinema’s front door. There is step-free access to the venue. The doors are manual push-pull doors, but a member of staff will be there to assist.
Space
Light House has three different floors, all accessible by lift and staircase.
Ground floor: Bar, café, box office, toilets
-2: Screens Three and Four, gallery, seating area, accessible toilet
-3: Screens One and Two, bar, toilets, seating areas
Accessible Bathroom / WC
There is a dedicated accessible toilet located on the mezzanine at -2 level, please ask a member of staff for the pass code to gain entry. A larger toilet cubicle is located in the ladies and the gents bathrooms at -3 level. Both of these bathrooms have lowered sinks and handrails.
Bar
The ground floor bar has a height of 100cm and a lower bar of 75cm, and the -3 floor bar has a height of 120. The ground floor bar has options of cold and hot drinks, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Straws are available. Hot and cold food options are also available here. All allergens are listed. The bar on -3 is accessed by steps and a ramp that can be accessed when turning right from the lift. It has options of soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and snacks.
Performance Space
The designated wheelchair accessible seats are located in the front row of Screen One. There is step-free access to the front row, with steps leading up to the rest of the seating rows. Availability of the wheelchair seats differs with every performance. A complimentary carer seat is provided with these seats.
Seating
In the bar areas on the ground floor and -3 level, there is low seating and chairs. All tables and chairs are moveable. The chairs have no arm rests.
Sound
There is no Loop system for this event. The live musicians during this screening will be using their own PA system which will not go through the Loop system.
Lighting
Throughout the venue, there will be brighter lights with some darkened areas due to atmospheric lighting. The bathrooms have direct white light. In the film screen, lights will be dimmed and then darkened when the movie begins. No strobe lighting will be used.
Quieter Room
There is no dedicated quiet room in the Light House but the seating areas on level -2 are quieter away from the main crowd.
