Dublin’s newest and strangest museum, The Museum of Curiosities, is transformed into an immersive journey through the five senses unfolding across its five rooms. Downstairs, sight comes alive in darkened, projection-lit spaces that reveal the museum’s exhibits in unexpected ways, alongside Victorian viewing devices including stereoscopes and mutoscopes. Upstairs, live musical performances and interactive instruments, including a theremin, explore sound.
In the foyer, a scent-led perfumery designed to evoke memory, emotion and imagination invites visitors to explore smell, while a Victorian room heightens touch through mystery objects and unusual textures. Finally, a former kitchen explores taste with edible creations and preserved historical curiosities, including decades-old sweets and a centuries-old piece of cake.

Entry
There is flat, step-free access from the street into the ground floor foyer. However, movement between rooms and floors requires navigating steps and narrow doorways. A flight of 16 steps leads to the upper level. The venue does not have a lift and is not wheelchair accessible.
Space
The museum is set across two floors comprising a foyer and three rooms (one large, two small) on the ground floor, and an upstairs hallway, bathroom, and one large room accessed via a 16-step staircase. Both levels are quite narrow, with limited space to move between displays. Ground floor areas are slightly more open but still present tight navigation corners.
Accessible Bathroom / WC
There is no accessible toilet on site. The venue’s bathroom is located upstairs and is not fitted with handrails.
Bar
There is no bar at the Museum.
Performance Space
The performance moves through flat but confined museum rooms across both floors. You will start on the ground floor and move to the first floor where the performance will end. The space cannot accommodate wheelchairs or large mobility devices.
Seating
This is primarily a standing and walking immersive experience. There is no fixed seating on the ground level, but up to 30 seats are available on the upper level, and limited chairs can be provided upon request for those who require them.
Sound
A combination of live and pre-recorded music will be played at reasonable, comfortable volume levels through a PA system.
Lighting
The lighting is dim and atmospheric throughout the building. Projection lighting will be active in select rooms. No strobe lighting will be used. If you need help navigating, please alert a member of staff on arrival.
