Irish Folk Music may be most often-celebrated for its ability to whip up the energy at a party, its rebel-rousing, or for its bawdy humour; but there is a dark side to the songs which have helped shape the nation.

On the Dark Musical Tour of Dublin, together with a local balladeer and bonafide raconteur, we’ll explore some of the gory and grisly side of Irish balladry. We’ll sing our way through the streets of Dublin, being regaled by gruesome tales of murderers and resurrection men, quarrelsome lords and fallen soldiers, the ghosts of forlorn lovers, and cruel hanging judges.

Get involved with sea-soaked shanties, murder-ballads, Sean Nós, and more as you lose yourself in some of Dublin’s most beloved songs, as well as some of the city’s lesser-known street ballads.

Let music transport you back in time to traverse the streets of our nation’s capital through the ages, seeing a side of the city you never even knew was there!
